For my 3rd 2nd semester, i spent around 2 months for the community service and doing research for my thesis.
For the community service, i was posted to NKF (National Kidney Foundation) at Petaling Jaya. For the first thing that coming to my mind before going to NKF, is blank. i don't know i like it or not. Most of my friends were divided to primary school, or special kids centres, all was involved children. For me, NFK mostly is adult or old folks. I did not thinking of changing or complaining about it because i think, like the chinese saying ' since u being divided, so be happy about the division' .
For the first few weeks in NKF, there was nothing to do, seems that our present there was a extra things, because the centre is not big, and there was nothing we really can help out. whats we can do according to the nurses there is ' go and chat with the patients, since their dialysis process is take around 4 hours, there will be a bit bored just sitting there' ...so we walk around having with the weird feeling. And sure we have our main purpose to NKF, we need to build rapport with the patients, so that patients can share their stories with us and we will assess whats their needs then we will carry out our projects in helping them.
The thing i need to emphasize on is, traveling to NKF, is killing me...first every morning, 630 am i need to start my traveling. I need to take a bus to Wangsa Maju LRT station then take LRT to Asia Jaya. (the journey in train was took 40-45 minutes. Then to reach NKF, i need to take another bus from the bus station near Asia Jaya. So can u imagine how long the journey take, and how TIRE...but i really feel grateful that all along the journey, i had a friend, FeiQi accompany me...it makes my journey not lonely..
okay..back to the topic, for the last day we at NKF, we carry out our project which is 'Makan dengan Bijak'. We gave the talk mainly focus on the problems they had, that is phosphate, potassium and fluid intake. Most of them are poorly controlled.

My team ....
I presented for the first session and that session was attended by my lectures (Dr Tila and Dr Winnie). I can tell, how successful for that session. I was so happy that everything run very smooth. All our efforts paid......I was so touched. For the talk i really hope the information we delivered out will be helpful for they patients...
Do not forget to mention, we also had our 'pameran'. we exhibit all the posters that done by ourself. So so satisfied...for the poster...It will be my memories in my life...
